Back in the Swing (New Years Eve)

So today is December 31st 2012, also known as the last day of 2012, the world didn't end and I have some exciting news.

8:30
Wake up, start logging onto W101.

9:30
It finally loads and I get on to accept a sweet Christmas gift from a super awesome friend: the Dino Bundle. O_O
But guess what kinda of want it comes with? A bow wand!! It's a little bulky and really nothing like an actual bow. I set it to level 50 so I could equip it, but I think for now I'll stick with my flute (yes Luke, I still have the flute).
Next I switched over to my Life alt, Sarai Rainflower, and set the Azteca-style gear to level 30, because most of its cards are Life themed, and she's a level 28 (whereas my other alt is only level 20).
Then I switch to my Balance alt, Elizabeth Jadewraith, and gave her the pet. And believe me, that thing is FAT... but cute.
Lastly I came back to my own side and accepted the house.

HOLY
STORM LORD
IT'S
HUGE

The outside? Eh, big enough.
Inside? Small!
The catacombs??? O_O I got lost. Several times.

This house it never going to be decorated. I mean, I would love to, but I don't have the time nor the amount of furniture to even begin to decorate it. Maybe someday I'll attempt to, but that'll be when I don't have other things to do.

*Tries to go to Dragonspyre*
Alert: I'm sorry, you're membership has run out. Would you like to buy out this area for this ridiculous amount pf crowns?
NO!
I have started on a quest, thanks to the inspiration of awesome friend Destiny, to figure exactly how Dragonspyre is so much like Italy/Rome. The connection has become painstakingly obvious to me now after traveling to Rome, Italy (as well as other places in the boot-shaped country).

11:30
*eats breakfast*

11:45
Then me and my dad got on the Wii and continued our conquest of Zelda: Battle Quest. We beat level 4 (it was really hard), level 5 was a breeze, and then we gave up on level 6.

12:00
Watched Prometheus.
Okay, enough said. It was a good. But if you don't like bugs or fleshy things (like me), make sure you have quick reflexives, you'll want to look away at least a couple of times. If you've already seen the Alien movies (Prometheus is a prequel), then you should be all set.

2:00
Wii time!
Yes! Beat the game!! Got a gold star, and it took a really long time (2.5 hours).

4:30
Okay, let's figure out a bunch of useless stuff on the Wii for half an hour.

5:00
Dishwasher time!!

5:30
I'm done!! Let's go write a blog post about all this.

Present Time
HAPP - stop it you stupid trackpad! I thought I fixed you!!
*the case of the mysterious, teleporting cursor strikes again*
HAPPY NEW YEARS EVE!!

I have been hit with a story idea that I think is pretty cool. I might post some of it tomorrow.
Wait.... tomorrow.... January 1st...?

It's my wizversary!! (Don't ask how many years its been, too many. WAY too many and I'm still at level 54.... *sobs*)

Similarities

I get this.
So so much.

I just had to put it out there.

Honestly though, however, onetime, for commenting on a blog, I had to put that "prove you're human" thing there, and I got a whole story idea out of it. I think this is the post.

Happy New Years Eve!! I'll post later too.

She's Back!! (and some other stuff)

(To an extent).

Sierra is back with a post explaining her absence and what she plans to do. She has so much writing going on right now, it'll be an accomplishment if she does get to the sequel she promised (anyone remember that? Eh, read the post and you will).

In more news: using my Christmas money, my family bought the WiiU, and I've been beating... er... Playing with my dad in a bunch of Mario games and Zelda: Battle Quest (all in nintendo land). Now we have to get a second remote so I can beat... PLAY with him in Super Smash-Bros BRAWL, but that's for the other video gaming blog, so I'll post more about it there.

AND OMG IT'S SNOWING!!

Honestly, one would think I'm a Thaumaturge...

I haven't been writing very much lately. I mean, I finished editing the first part of my non-W101 story, and that took a total of four hours (and that was ONLY putting it all into present tense...), so I haven't worked on Winterstar or The Silver Harp, but I promise I'll get some more parts done with those... sometime... next year.... XD Two days left of 2012!!

SWORD

Let's pray I dont kill myself accidentally on that. Believe me, it's really, REALLY sharp.

In the second picture, the papers you see behind the sword is the printed out, currently-being-edited-surprisingly Black Ivy. Remember what I said some long time ago? If part one isn't posted on W101 by the new year, I'll just post it up here. I really just can't keep it sitting on my bed like that (the bed frame I mean, the mattress is actually on the floor... it's a long story).

Unfortunately I have no idea what type of katana (fancy word for a Japanese style sword, just in case you didn't know) it is. I think it might be a Daito, because the two pictures fit, but the handle on mine seems a little bit (a lot) shorter. I do know that its a two-handed sword though.

WOW, I had a lot of posts this month.

It snowed about 1.5 feet today. I think it might still be snowing, but I can't be sure (seeing as it's already, like, pitch black outside).

I'm gonna go eat a cookie now.

Well... hmm... This is awkward

Snowstorm.
Power outage.
Three days.
Then... LET'S GO FOR A LONG CAR RIDE TO SEE FAMILY.
And guess what? Family has no wifi.

-_-

So... I don't think my 12 days of Christmas are going to be finished.
I tried.

MERRY (belated) CHRISTMAS!!
AND OTHER HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

I had a great Christmas, mainly because I got my sword (finally)!! A legitimate, official, one of a kind, samurai sword with a wicked sharp blade.

When my family was video-chatting my aunt, Fiona Searider, and I told her, she asked me if it was a W101 sword.
I was like, "HA! I wish..."

I'm also now burning a candle that smells like lemon meringue pie.
:D

Hope everyone has had a fantastic holiday week!!

On the sixth day of Christmas

One stand of colorful Christmas lights
Two random KI game advertisements
Three interesting Wizard101 mounts
Four awesome things this weekend
Fiiiiiive epic speeelllls
Six writing excerpts

A Glass Web - chapter three
“Eir?”
I was having a strange dream when Levi poked me awake.
“Eir!”
I throw an arm over my eyes, trying to remember the dream. “Go away Levi...”
“GET UP EIR!”
I throw my arm in her direction. “No!”
Her arms hook under mine and she drags me out of bed. “It’s dinner time and Talen told me to get you because he wants to take us out to dinner. So get up! Get dressed! In something nice of course. Meet me at start of the City.”

The Secret Chamber - chapter one
“Well, we have to assume that the others found this same thing. Or, something came through the walls and took them.” I glance back and forth. “Its also possible that they all lead to the same place.”
“But they could have connecting hallways,” Assistant puts in tentatively.
“That is true.”
“And monsters could also be down there.”
“That is also true.”
“Or some sort of poisonous gas.”
“That is true as well.”
“Or - ”
“Enough with the death possibilities.”
“Sorry.”

The Silver Harp - chapter one
Deciding that it was too much worth thinking about, I shoved my way to the Spiral Chamber, and inserted my Krokotopia key. Why Krokotopia? I hated that place, all hot and dry, constant day, and ridiculous duels.
Yet suddenly that was where I was standing, choking back the almost unbearable heat as my lungs adapted themselves to the humidity of the Oasis.
Hunching over to avoid the glaring of the sun, I tamper with my options of where I should go. The Pyramid of the Sun? Nah, too dry in there. Plus some Journeyman would probably ask for my help. The Krokosphinx seemed like the best option, since it was nice and cold in there. However for some reason my sights were pulled to the Well of Spirits.

School of Shadow - chapter five
Once back walking alone the rooftops I again pass the girl attacking the clockworks. Still? No, they were different ones. The last ones had been... rank four? These were rank four elite. And yes, there is a difference.
Need any help?” I ask.
She glances over her shoulder. “Uh... sure!”
I join the duel and so does another clockwork. Together we finish them off, though I don’t really think she needed my help at all.
What’s your name?” I ask.
Calamity Emeraldsword. You?”
Suri. Rain.” If your curious the reason I say my first name, pause, then my last name is because I still have to think a moment before saying Rain. To me Silverwillow will always be my last name.
Nice. Did you know ‘Suri’ in the ancient language means ‘rain’? So really your name is Rain, Rain. Though I guess that doesn’t matter. Storm wizard I’m guess?”
I laugh. “No, really? Hadn’t noticed. You’re a Life wizard then?” Some of the light and laughter in Calamity’s eyes die.

Black Ivy - chapter four
Suddenly the door was thrown open. “Headmaster! Headmaster! I must speak with–” Blaze Thunderthorn froze, looked from me, to Aeden, to the Headmaster, back to me and stuttered, “Huh?”
“I’ve accepted my destiny,” I say, looking him square in the eye. “And now only one person stands in the way.”
“You’re looking at me. I hope you don’t mean me.”
I laugh. “Yeah, you wouldn’t stand a chance.” I tell him my plan.
His mouth drops open.

----------

Are they okay? No good? The first is my own, original piece. The others are, I hope you know, fanfics.  2 and 3 will hopefully be worked on after midterms (uuughh). I never finished SoS, even though I was really close. Out of all of them I really like Black Ivy, but AGW is pretty close.

"And I leave you with this final dose of epicocity."
I should've done this say one....

On the fifth day of Christmas

One stand of colorful Christmas lights
Two random KI game advertisements
Three interesting Wizard101 mounts
Four awesome things this weekend
Fiiiiiive epic speeelllls

Being level 54 obviously means my favorite spell is Storm Lord. Well, when there's 2+ enemies. If there's only one guy then Triton suites me just fine.
And Storm Blade? Please, I'd be NO WHERE without my ever trustworthy Storm Blade.
Leviathan is a pretty awesome spell nonetheless, though I have yet to learn it.
Actually, I hate Lightning Bats. Because when I had the spell and wanted to use said spell, it ALWAYS fizzled. Believed me, it was my bad luck card.
And those are all the level 88 spells (self explanatory enough, I guess). Storm Owl is pretty awesome, and, as always, it does the most damage. Seriously  there is no spell that even comes close to its damage points. Myth is the closest, but sill a good 400 points away.

It's snowing!!

On the fourth day of Christmas

Four awesome things this weekend

The movie

Sugar cookies

Finally!!

Shopping

So it finally snowed!! I'm extremely physced right now. And I just made cookies, which is making the kitchen smell amazing. You already know I saw The Hobbit, which, as I shall say again, was the BEST MOVIE EVER. I also went Christmas shopping, which is always fun. I wore a santa hat and everyone either smiled at me, or complimented me.
:)

Well, that concludes my Sunday. One week left of school and then it's holiday break! I am so ready for a break...

On the third day of Christmas

One strand of colorful Christmas lights
Two random KI game advertisements
Three interesting Wizard101 mounts

Charity Fa-La-La-La Llama

Green Candy Cane

Charity Chrismoose

So, I'm writing this while watching ELF, one of the best Christmas movies :)

As far as the above mounts go, I have to say that the Chrismoose is my favorite. Look at his big red nose!! And the antlers!! Ooh, so cute!!
As far as I know, the llama is new. It's certainly interesting, though I think the shoes are a little odd.

I saw The Hobbit today.
Peter Jackson is now number one on my dislike-with-a-fiery-passion list.
Seriously!!?? You had a cliff hanger there!?

NOT.
COOL.

Apparently, the whole thing is going to be three movies. Out of one book!

However the movie itself was spectacular. Definitely one of the bestest ones ever since Avatar. The actor for Gollum was by far my favorite. My favorite scene was when Bilbo and him were having their game of riddles.

Ugh, I feel like this post as no passion. Well, I just got over a vicious cold/flu sickness, and I'm very tired. I promise I'll be better tomorrow.

On the second say of Christmas

One strand of colorful Christmas lights
Two random KI game advertisements

One of these I already showed you, but who cares!! I find it really cool when I see an advertisement for something I know.

Okay, Eden Eternal is another game I play, so I included it.
ANYWAY, P101 I found on facebook, and W101 I found on a mini game website.

Oh, and one more thing...

OMG I FINISHED MY BOOK!!
I know, I'm 14 days late (pertaining to NaNo), but that was only if I had been aiming for it in a month. I'm lucky I finished it THIS year.
But wait for it... 60k words!! That's more than I ever thought I would write. I was seriously thinking I would never each 50k!

* freaks out *

Plus, I finished it just like... ten minutes ago :p
Literally.

Holy Storm Lord I'm so happy!!!

On the first say of Christmas

One strand of colorful Christmas lights

Yes, I'm doing this.
I've never done it before either.

Anyway, who here likes Christmas lights? Any not like them? I personally think they're the most festive thing during this holiday season. Everywhere you go, they add a brilliant happiness to the area. I've actually got two in my room, but that's besides the point.
It's pretty cold outside, so I'm hoping for a big snowfall tonight.

I feel so out of it...

Since W101 and P101 don't run, I'm certainly left with nothing to post about.
-_-

Everyone is talking about level 90 and the Twelve Days of the Spiral and everything else. And I can't relate because:
  1. I'm still in DS!!
  2. There's no snow outside right now, so my Christmas spirit is dead
See my problem?

I'm certainly doing a Twelve Days of Christmas of my own, since I missed out on it last year. I should probably go plan that out...

A Dual Personality

And an update!!

Okay, so I've been thinking lately... As a New Years resolution, my goal is to rewrite The Silver Harp (TSH).

Yeah, anyone remember that? Probably not, it was years ago. Well, it was called Argentum Magia (Latin for 'Silver Magic'), and I ended up quitting it miserably. It did get pretty far though, but I guess I just lost inspiration.

"But Emma, wait. What about Winterstar, and posting more GWB??"

Well~, you see that's gonna go a little like this....
GWB is done!! I can post it whenever I want to!!
As for WS (as it shall be abbreviated), that'll be my other side for my fanfic writing for next year.

"So... why can't you start now?"

Because I'm one chapter away from the climax in my own novel!! I plan to finish that THIS year, and then do a whole bunch of writing projects next year.
All good?

So that's the update.

As for my dual personality, actually I'm more like bipolar. I still check back to IWriteLike page once in a while, posting an excerpt from whatever it is I'm working on.

I just posted what I had begun so far with TSH, and it gave me this:

I write like
William Shakespeare
I Write Like by Mémoires, journal software. Analyze your writing!

:D
No way!!
So I'm happy about that.

And remember how with WS it gave me:

I write like
Chuck Palahniuk
I Write Like by Mémoires, journal software. Analyze your writing!

Yes, very different people there. VERY different.

I basically have a different writer for every piece I write!!

Anyway, that's my update / yet-another-reason-why-I'm-bipolar.

What is this I have found??

Fallon looked around. The rain was pouring now, and it was hard to see, but not too hard to see what confused her most. All around her tall buildings made of metal and glass reached great heights into the gray sky. Masses of people, more than she’d ever seen streamed around her, their heads turned low, staring at little glowing squares. Sometimes they would give a ferocious tap at them, and the box would change, or they would wipe the rain water away from it so they could see better.
Fallon was lost, this was not her world. No one noticed her, and she couldn’t get the attention of any of them since they were so absorbed in their little boxes. Lights as bright as suns shown from tall poles, and from the glass on the buildings. It flooded onto the peculiar stone street, and was disoriented by the water and the millions of feet that walked upon it.
“Fallon!” She heard her name being called. How she could hear it over the roar of this strange place was impossible to fathom. “Fallon!”
“I’m here!” She began pushing through the crowd towards the man whom she had first met. Suddenly she was glad for the rain, for it hid her tears of fright. “Where am I?”
“I did tell you, didn’t I? What I’d like to know is where you’re from.”
“Well, I did tell you where I’m from.”
“All I know is that you flew out of my computer screen, blurted a bunch of mumbo jumbo, and then you took off running.”
Fallon was silent, and for a moment it felt like the rest of the world was too. No roaring, no tapping, no clicking, and no honking. Just her and the rain, pattering softly on the ground.
“Let’s go back to my house,” he was saying. “We can sort it out there.”
Fallon numbly felt her hand being taken as she was guided back up the street. She wondered: how can the rain fall when the sky is blocked? How will the sun shine through the clouds that shouldn’t be there?
I can feel this world dying.

Okay...?
So I just found this in a random document.

Clearly, it is an excerpt from GWB. I guess it would be from part four. I don't know why it's in third person, I don't even know when I wrote it...

Anyway!

I have come up with a solution.

If, by January, Black Ivy is not posted, I'll just post it here.
What? It's not like I'm worried about copy right. Besides, the only thing I can gain from it being posted on W101 is notability.

Anyway! I think I need to post a new part of GWB soon....ish. I think around part five is when I need to start editing badly.

So I have to say I'm little touched

(Oh be quiet! I know it's my fourth post, but I'm bored!!)

I don't know how long this will be.......

ANYWAY, onto the topic of this final post of the day (you have my word).

So I was flipping through blogs, reading updated posts, getting caught on W/P101 news, and also looking at the blogroll.
It is something I commonly do, because one blogger might follow another great blog that I don't, and then I find out about it and think, "Oh, this is great," at the world is a happy place. Hey, this is how I met half of you.

So, this leads to the point of the post where I'm saying that I'm usually struck speechless when I see my blog on their blogroll (especially when it's someone I dont know, and especially especially when it's a well known blog (which I classify as every blog except my own, so in a way EVERYONE'S BLOG!!)).
C:

Seriously, I smile like an idiot.

And then when I forget (a common, bad characteristic of mine), and then I happen to see it again, and now I know you, and I smile like an idiot [again].

So saying "I'm a little touched" is an understatement.
I'm super touched.

Well, in a way it's more of a mixture of feelings, but lets not get into that...

Anyway, I really wanted to say that. Count it as my holiday, mushy, emotional (if you want to get picky and precise) post.
TA-DA!

So to subtly change topics...

Since I'm not a great artist (actually, I'm terrible), I always search for those websites where you can mix and match appearances on characters to create your own. Well, I have finally found a great one, and I've been making the portraits of the characters from my books all day.

Finally, I was like, "Hey, what about myself?" (speaking as Emma).

So....
Yeah.
Granted the graphics aren't even close to that of W101, but hey. It's pretty darn close. As for the mark on her face, I just kinda mixed in a little Shadowhunter (if you haven't, READ THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS SERIES NOW!!).
:p
The tunic is the closest I could get to anything resembling robes from W101. The wand/staff is self explanatory... As for the bottles hanging from her hand, I guess those kinda represent the potion bottles? Maybe something to do crafting...? What ever suits your fancy. The arm band is the "ring".

So how about Suri from Black Ivy??
Yes, frowning as usual. Jet black hair, black eyes, really pale skin... check check check. Armor, black of course, because ... AHH! I can't tell you yet because you haven't read it!!! (Hurry up W101, post part 1 already!!). Anyway, she has the fancy necklace for the name reason. No wand either (agh! I can't explain it!!). And then the potion bottles. Yup, all there.

And Fallon...? You know, the protagonist from GWB. Willowstone's the last name.
Yup purple hair, tide up right now because it was getting in her face. Spell book, and no wand or potion bottles (just cause). A book instead, cause she's less of a fighter, more of a thinker.
Ugh, I really wish they had better outfit choices. I didn't want to repeat, so I gave her a dress :p Oh well, can't be helped.

You may want to expect to see more character portraits.
I really like this website.

Thanks everyone again!!! (From the first part of the post in case you forgot, which is what I'll do if I ever reread this, haha).

Third post in the day

What!? I'm bored!!

Anyway, check out this post I wrote a year ago. I think it's funny.
Seriously, that stew pot of emotions is true to this day. (Only there's no snow outside...)
A Stew Pot of Emotions

~Emma

WOOHOO

So, I'm home sick today.
Which means??
Writing time!
Which leads too...?

I reached 50k words!!!! (I'm 24 words over right now, haha.)

I'm actually not done with the book yet, but that's the most words I've ever written (actually, that goal was made as soon as I passed 35k, but that's besides the point!).

Too bad I couldn't have done this for NaNo, but I don't have any regrets. Maybe I can write it's sequel next year!!

Anyway... just had to share that news.

Laterz!

P.S. - and excerpt:
The sun had fully risen behind the mountains, making the sky a pale blue. I speed walk to the practice fields where a group of twenty cadets, ages eleven to thirteen, were fiddling with their swords. I grab the hilt of my own, spread my legs out, and regard them with menace. “Listen up! Swords are not toys, they are your life! Take care of them!” I yell.
They start when they see me. I scan my eyes around the crowd. I knew most of them. Some were knew. And there was... “What are you doing here?” I ask Talen.
“Commander Evans told me to start my training early so I could catch up faster.”
“I see. Well, that’s great.” I turn to face the entire crowd. Talen looked odd since he was taller than all of them. I was tall myself, but he was then half a head taller. “Today we’re skirmishing with each other. Everyone grab a partner and assume stance four. Practice stances six, seven, and nine. Once I approve move onto twelve. Capiche?”
An echoing chorus of “capiche” answered me.
I nod. “Get to it!” Soon Talen was standing alone while the other cadets started. I sigh. “You need a partner.”
He shrugs. “I guess.”
I try not to smile. Why would I smile? There was nothing to smile about. Yet I found myself holding back a smile. “Alright. I’m your partner. How much training have you had with a sword?”
“A bit.” He regards his flat bladed pig steel used for practices.
“Alright. Come at me.” He looks at me as though he’s not entirely sure I mean what I said. He gets his answer as I unsheath my own sword, also flat bladed, and point it at him. “Attack.”
He lunges, sword out. I easily step aside and clang my own down on his, forcing him to stumble to keep hold of the sword. He rights himself and turns back to me.
I beckon him with my hand. “Try again.” Again he lunges, and again I side step and being my sword down. “You’re not taking this seriously. Come at me like I’m about to murder you.”
Again he strikes out, but this time it was a feint. I move to block up front as he drives for my stomach. I back step to the left and spin, barely holding back from cracking the heel of the handle on his head. This was only practice, I have to break that habit.
“Okay, that was clever. Now try to actually surprise me.”
He looked angry, but it was practice. He was getting frustrated, which might improve his fighting. He fingers the sword for a moment, before stepping forward towards me. I fling my sword up to block an attack, but none comes. He had done another feint. I nod approval. “Good. Now actually attack.”
He lunges forward and our swords clang. I look down at his feet. “Good footwork. But you need to work on actual sword technique.”
I spin his sword around and thrust my elbows back, shoving him away. “A sword is not your only weapon.” I do a tip thrust and Talen barely manages to avoid it. “Dodging, elbowing, kneeing, your whole body is a weapon.” I fly around him and smack his shoulder blades lightly. “Speed is also your ally.” Again I was in front of him and holding my sword sideways to his breastbone. “There are many attacks with a sword, but they only work if you know your body.”
He spins and brings his hands up and shoves me away. He keeps me at sword point as we circle each other.
“Using your body. Good. Now, position four?”
I move my feet and raise my sword.
“Stance six.”
My sword flies forward, narrowly missing his head.
“Stance seven.”
A defense. I move my feet together and bring my sword close to my body. Talen’s attack bounces off.
“Stance nine.”
I back away again to regain my footing. My foot finds a solid spot where I could jump from. Talen was watching me keenly.
“Stance twelve, final attack.”
I lunge forward. My sword flies to Talen’s wrists and his own sword goes flying from his grip. The tip of mine rests at the nape of his neck.

The Interwebz

A little something for my temporary absence!

Strictly speaking, but this is so true!! When I write, I play the scenes out in my head as though it were a movie. Sometimes when I'm bored I also come up with trailers, like if it were ever a movie :)

I relate :p

What am I doing...? Literally, every time.

Well...

Destiny is the greatest girl ever.

Enough said.

Thanks for the Christmas/winter/holiday header!!

Winter Template

Same background, as usual. If there's anything that bugs you (like you can't see the text because of its color, etc) tell me! I'm more than happy to fix problems.

Unfortunately there's no snow here.
Well, there was, but not any more. It all melted yesterday.
>.<

Anyway, I won't be posting much for the rest of the year. Well, I mean this writing wise. I'd love to work more on Winterstar and try to get Black Ivy posted on W101, but I don't know when that's going to happen. Right now my main goal is to finish my own book (which is pushing just around 48k words, which is the most I've ever written, and I totally would've won NaNoWriMo if there hadn't been the disqualification...).

Wait... WHAT!?!?

See!? This is what happens when school smashes you in the face with work and then you can't blog. But it doesn't matter, there's nothing to blog about anyway because the computer is crashed!!

What happened, should I say? You've probably already heard about it, it happened a week ago, and I just found out last night!

Blaze from the wonderful blog Tales of Spiral... left?
O_O

And apparently, this isn't a "I'm leaving... Kidding! I'm back." He's gone for good. Why are the bloggers leaving! * depression *
So, I guess I'll give a big Bye, see ya later to Blaze. Everyone will miss you!

I mean really now, I'm pushing 4 years now, I'll be a veteran blogger soon at this rate!

Well, I guess all I can so is sit and write and so homework (>.<) and watch the snow fall and look at christmas lights...

Oh yeah, it's winter now, and we've already got four inches of snow!! I suppose that lifts my spirits a little.

I also want to give a big Happy freakin congratulations to Destiny for completing NaNoWriMo. Go Destiny!!

I'll probably put my winter theme up soon-ish. Maybe even a book excerpt!!

On the topic of books, me and friend wrote one collaboratively, and finished in like a month. Then her friend read it and was like, "Let's make this into a movie!"
And then BOOM, next summer we're going to make it into a movie directed and produced by yours truly and a couple others. It's a big project, and it'll take a lot of time, but if this happens? WOW, that's an accomplishment!

And I cannot wait for Christmas.
Well that's my update.

Ok, WOW. I was gone a while...

Yeah.
So I've been absent.
For a while now.

I'll be blunt about it... SCHOOL.

Yes, I know I just had a break (Thanksgiving), but I am being bombarded with homework and projects. I did, however, have plenty of time last week to play both P101 and W101. There was just one, eency weency, itty bitty problem.

Computer crash.
>.<

SO, solution? None. W101 barely plays, but there's never anyone on anyway...

Also, you may have noticed, my little NaNoWriMo widget has stopped counting. Why...? I had to drop it due to a rule violation (which I just think is stupid). No, I was not arrested or anything. The rule is that you can't use a piece you started previously.
T_T

I'm still planning on finishing that book this year however, and am planning to write its sequel (possibly) during Camp NaNo.

I suppose this is also a warning post. I don't know how often I'll be able to post for the rest of the year (don't freak out, theres like a month left).
However before you go I have a question:
What say you to me posting excerpts from non-W101/P101 writings?
Just a thought just a thought. Comment on your opinion! I'd love to hear it.

Exploring with Design

No, not blog design. For the moment I'm past that. Now I'm just playing around, familiarizing myself with a website my friend Destiny recomendad called pixlr.com. Mind you I'm messing with the o-matic that's insanely simple and straight forward. Just right for me!

Here's one I did:
I did this effect called 'Hagred' (odd I know) that made the colors and color boarders pop more, then added that swirly boarder around the whole thing. I like it a lot.
With these next two I have story thing behind each.
---
Someone looks into a scrying glass and sees Valencia bathed in an ethereal glow while its slowly being broken apart. A certain doom awaited the world and this one person knew about it. But what could they do? Who would believe their premonition? No one would, for most would enjoy seeing Valencia's demise. It's prime hour would be its last...
-----
The attic was dingy and musty and, even though the rain outside was cold, humid. The person rubbed their nose. Though they didn't have allergies, being in such a dank room was making them sneeze profusely.
Grudgingly, they picked up yet another old, cardboard box and flipped open the old flaps, sending up a cloud of moist dust. Resisting the urge to hack up a lung, they gently pulled out the boxes contents: an old wooden box, a mice bitten book, and a... photo record?
The person lifted out the large scrapbook with extreme carefulness. It thick cover held years of gray dust, the photo on the cover had faded to bleak gray, its scene now impossible to make out. The person gently wiped away some dust, then opened it up.
Covering the first page was a old photo of a women standing in a garden, holding a rose. Since the picture was in black and white, it was hard to tell what color the rose was. Around the rest of the page were faded flower petal and bits of string. Someone had once written notes on the side, but now the curly ink writing was nearly faded it invisible.
The person flipped through the pages, wondering what each photo could mean, and what the person had written on the margines beforehand. When a piece of paper slipped out from between the pages, the person nearly jumped a mile. Shaking from apprehension, they bend down and pick up the paper. It was a photo, its original sticking having worn away so it fell out.
It was a photo unlike any other. It had color to it, for one, but was smudged with dirt. Carefully the person rubbed away the dirt. Some of it wouldn't come off, giving the photo a hardy look to it.
The scene of the photo itself was one the person recognized instantly: Valencia. But what were the streaks of ethereal light behind it? And why was it so dark? The photo gave the person an ominous feeling, and they no long had any interest in the dust they had been complaining about not too long ago.
Now they wanted to know how took this photo, and what it told.
---

Eh? Like it? Yeah, that last one was a little long, but you had to get the background so it made sense. Well, I think it may involve part of the plot in Winterstar, which I will work on much more after November.

Speaking of the current month, I got a counting widget! Also, not that this might be considered increasingly interesting, but AGW is split into 4 parts, and I got a friend (who's an really good editor) to edit part one.

OH! On a more interesting note, much more so, I don't think Black Ivy part one was sent in.
My bad...
So I'll try resending. Maybe I'll have better luck when I check to see if it's up.
So~...

Come on people! Don't be shy, ask me a question.

You won't believe it

It's post #200!!

*throws confetti*

Okay! So I'm betting you're now thinking "so there's something special?" Well here's that 'something special'!

I realized some time ago that you don't know much about me. Like... personally. Those of you who have been around a while might know me quite well, but those of your just coming around are like "who is this girl?"

So here's what I'm thinking:
Drop a comment or send me an e-mail (emmadawnrider@yahoo.com) with a question about what you want to know about me, it may (or may not) be put up on my new, upcoming page that's a bio about myself.

Rules?
Of course.
  • Nothing inappropriate or offensive, your're remark will be dutifully ignored (if it's a comment it will be deleted).
  • Nothing extremely personal (i.e. my age, where I live, physical traits, etc.). You can, however, ask things like what I do in my free time, sports, skills, etc.
  • Questions can also be completely random, such as 'if you suddenly found yourself on mars, would you search for aliens?'. Please note that I will then feel obligated to give an equally random answer :)
Well, I think that's it.
I'll be waiting for your questions!

You know what you also won't believe?
I am trying, yet again, NaNoWriMo.
My premonition going into the event was my indelible failure :3 Even if I don't make it in a month, I do believe that the novel I'm working on, A Glass Web, will make it to is not beyond 50,000 words.
As I reread the synopsis, I think I did a pretty good with it.

Check it out:
"The country Saoria has finally recovered from a tragic war twenty years ago. The mysterious country that invaded from the north with no reason whatsoever used an enormous crystal called a 'Variance' that powered magical attacks that did massive damage. Once the crystal was captured, the war ended. But soon thereafter the 'Variance' went missing...
"The story beings with sixteen year old Eir Baskerville finding the missing 'Variance', but a strange reaction happens when she touches it. Now she's trapped in a world of secrets where everything she thought she knew was twisted information purposefully planted to lead people astray from the truth."
What do you think? Captivated? I hope so! I really hope to get it published someday, sooner rather than later. I hope...

Hey Check It Out!

See that beautiful header?
Yup.
Know how long it took to make?
One day.
Know who made it?
LOL, not me!

My amazing friend Destiny Devereaux/Soultamer from Destiny's Travels, who is also taking on the excessive task of NaNoWriMo (remember that? And how I failed?), made that.
I have to say it's pretty

She very skillfully used part of my original background header (of the Storm School) (if you hadn't noticed) and made it a little smaller. The background of the letters is then of Valencia. Thus merging Wizard101 and Pirate101 together. The vines are then very decorative.

She told me it was easy too.
-_- People like that amaze me.

Well, more graphic changes may be coming your way!

A Great Day!!

The template problems are over and done for!! I have figured out (or, rather I asked and I was told) how to fix it! So if these annoying problems ever bestow themselves upon you, just ask me! I now possess the answer.

:)

Just a note: I know the text that's a link's color may be a bit vibrant and hard to read for a moment.

One more week everyone! And then I'll have a vacation, and all will be swell.
And yes, I just used the word 'swell.'

And a quick note to all you people writing (since there seem to be a lot of you), a quick meme that will help... hopefully...

Dungeons #1

So I've decided to start a story series on my lovely time (sarcasm) in dungeons. I'll do my best to remember and get the facts right, but I may be wrong in a couple of parts.

Okay, where to begin...?
How about Krokotopia.

Refer to my previous post about my hatred of Potbelly how I mentioned a dungeon in KT where I stuck with all guys (as the case always seems to be).

Specifically it was the final dungeon where you fight Krokopatra. And, for those of you who remember, to get to her spot you need to have two tests: one of strength and the other wisdom/aptitude. Well, fighting went just perfect. Simple, easy, four -vs.- one? That's cool that's cool.

And then the puzzles.

No offense against guys, but the three I was with couldn't communicate. Two were always trying to light up the obelisks and thus the portal never glowed. Note there is a VERY SPECIFIC ORDER to which they must be lit up.

The first two tests were... okay... I guess... (not really).

The third was a mess. During this time the fourth member of our group joined, and unfortunately he didn't have text chat, so the difficulty of communication doubled. I remember this time so well, I remember the order in which the obelisks were meant to be activated:
  1. SUN
  2. TREE
  3. SNAKE
  4. BEETLE
I think the book told us something like this:
  1. The sun shines down on the tree.
  2. The tree shades the shades the snake.
  3. The snake hisses at the beetle.
  4. The beetle runs away.
And yes, apparently its JUST THAT HARD to figure out. And I know that its right, and I know that's what I said (and also because its on the dungeon guide on central). I don't know how many times I told them the order, yet every time they failed to activate the obelisks one at a time, because (I guess) they all thought he himself should be the one to do it.

See my problem?
Finally someone activated the portal and we finally got to Krokopatra where we left victorious. Then we proceded to Marlybone.
This happened in Katsenstein's Lab (speaking of MB) as well (linked with my feeling of despise towards Potbelly).

"Yes Emma, we get the point that you hate Potbelly."

Good! Then consider it mission accomplished.

And in other news I can't wait until my upcoming vacation week in which I will have two days all to myself, during which I will hopefully play P101 (if there is no glitch, in which case I'll play W101 and hopefully level up either Grace, Life alt, or Elizabeth, Balance alt).
Plus.... unlimited mashed potatoes!!!
:D

Blogger is still doing something weird, hold with me for now. I'm sorry, I'm trying to fix it.

More Ninja Pig-ness!

So, like many may have heard, KI sent out codes for a Ninja Pig companion in the form for a map. Well, let's skip the decoding of the map, and just right to the fact that I've teamed up with my good friend Blaze Shdowhorn, who you probably know as the one who runs Tales of Spiral. Now, there are 5 codes available!! And the requirements are beyond generous (to me anyway), and it was just above and beyond what I expected and expectantly easy, so I think those codes will be there pretty soon.

Check out the blog for more information!! Cause I really am not that great with explaining things. True story, I was paired with this girl in math class, and apparently I didn't help her at all. She kept going to the teacher for help, and when the teacher turned to me my excuse was, "Hey, I tried."

And for the widget thing:
a Rafflecopter giveaway

I really should've posted this like.... hours ago. But you know, school is school, plus I'm almost done with a book. SO~...

There you have it.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Yes! A time for feasting on candy and a creepy poem...

One Last Time
It is late at night
I should be asleep
So hush my darling
Don't mutter a peep
The house is quiet
The fire dead
I should be still
In my bed
But the cold outside
Is too much to bear
Even though I know
No one cares
Though I am gone
Tonight I am not
Hush my darling
Or I might get caught
I had to see you
One last time
So at midnight
When the moment is prime
So soon my dear
You will be like me
Six feet under
And you wont even breathe
So at midnight
When the moment is prime
You will see me
One... last... time...

I posted it last halloween, so some of your might recognize it. Anyway... I changed the plot line of Winterstar. The first chapter is now a lot longer, because I'm pretty sure it's going to be my P101 fanfic. If I ever get around to finishing it. I'm having writers block at the moment and its terrible.

On the topic fo P101, please note that the computer is still glitching out on me, plus I had a game crash the other day D: So I'm not sure if I'm going to playing that or W101 (or possibly EE) on my upcoming Thanksgiving break.

But that's a way off.
So enough of that.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Halloween's Eve

So for tomorrow (and only, you know, if I remember) for one day I'll have halloween-y a theme. PLUS: here's my costume:

See? Mask makes me a ninja, robe is from Celestia, and the boots (well, also from Celestia) make me stealthy. So I guess I could be a ninja... kinda...
The colors are actually my original colors from starting the game, blue and black.

Another thing I did was a text analyzer. Submit a short section of your writing and it'll give you name. I did this with one of my own pieces.

I write like
Mario Puzo
I Write Like by Mémoires, journal software. Analyze your writing!

Um... yeah. He's the author of The Godfather.
I don't know whether this is a good thing or not.
But that was mellow scene, let's try a another...

I write like
Chuck Palahniuk
I Write Like by Mémoires, journal software. Analyze your writing!

O.o
Okay, once more. I swear...

I write like
Edgar Allan Poe
I Write Like by Mémoires, journal software. Analyze your writing!

:D
Okay, I'm a little happy that it was him. The scene fit anyway. I swear, nothing gruesome and gory. But yes, some people did die here. It was no one important, it's the opening scene actually.

Alright enough of that.
P101!! It loads!! I am a level 6 and have arrived at Blood Shoals. However I can't do anything seeing as all I see when I sail is white lines flickering madly across my screen, so I can't see the Cutthroats firing at me, and when I can fire back I've already lost half my health.

So my goal? Earn the badge for defeating 500 cutthroats by fighting them in the Temple of Gloom. As I said last time, inside it's all good.
So again; O.o

NO SCHOOL TODAY!!
:D
All Hurricane Sandy has done to us so far was a power outage and lots of rain. I hope people along the cost are safe. I'm hoping no one will be too hurt.
