So, due to a serious LACK of entries, the whole thing was a bit of a... well... disaster :(
Maybe I'll try again for something else. I don't know. Was it too hard? Too boring? Not enough details? Well, the first place prize was going to be a bundle of your choosing, but then the whole thing went down the drain so...

ReplyDeleteHonestly when I saw your contest post I said to myself "good lord!" It was just an overwhelming amount of detail. Also the whole "point system thing," I just don't understand it; too confusing. There was too much text there, maybe you should have added a few graphics or something to break it up a bit. I think the turnout would have been better if you had clearly announced what the prizes were. I will admit I'm a bit lazy and it takes something exciting for me to enter.
ReplyDeleteOverall, I'm noticing a decline in alot of contest on many sites. They seem to be more technical, time consuming, and less fun. It also doesn't help that KI has now limited alot of these codes for one per account. I've stop entering contests, because I can't redeem the codes anymore.

Hi, I'm really sorry about the results. I was going to enter and completely overload your computer with all the entries I'd been saving up, but everything fell apart at the last minute because I had practically no computer time to compile everything.
ReplyDeleteA few reasons I think this didn't work out:
1. Timing. I (and probably many other people) was in school for the vast majority of this contest, and simply didn't have the time.
2. Lack of detail. No one even knew what we could have won. If you're going to have a contest where people need to rack up a ton of entries, they'd better know why they're doing it.
3. Lack of publicity. You need to put yourself on more blog lists, especially official fansites. Do you realize how hard it is to find this blog? Most people probably didn't even know you were doing this contest.
I would really love to see you try this again in July. It's definitely an interesting contest approach and demands a lot of commitment for those entering. I would absolutely enter, as long as I had the time.
One other thing I'd want to see addressed is the point system: It takes days for me to compose a good story, but I can scratch out a picture in twenty minutes. And they both have the same point value?
So, those are my suggestions, take 'em or leave 'em. Don't give up.
